Yei, another issue of Shine is out! And it's the first time that not Adok of Hugi is typing here, because it isn't working on his machine, so D-Lee makes the trouble here.

What is totally good? New GUI, nice design - that was always the best point of Shine - and an instable working... Warpig really made an awesome cover picture, btw. It was used in Haujobb's Generation 0 demo too and ranked first at Antiq '99. All other works are Baloo's and they really got an old Amiga fashion design! The background is mostly white, the typos are black, and the pictures coloring is pastell! Yeah, beibiis (copyright: Daisy Dee of Club Rotation), this is what we want from a diskmag in 1999.

After a little break (issue 4) the charts are back in this issue. Replay present a new way in voting, they asked 10 more or less famous demosceners and counted the charts. Well it's good, because it's faster to count the things and not much work for the staff. But, you can't take this too seriously, because a "big" chart with a minimum of 50 votes could show another result...

The best way is to use your mouse to scroll in the texts, but the "user's guide" you can check in the Editoral. As I mentioned the totally new diskmag engine isn't the best yet, I can force it to work only under Windows 9x. But they are working on it, and hopefully the sixth edition will be much better. (They plan a Windows only interface...)

Now some words about the articles. I think it is enuff now, I found all articles interesting except the party results. The "real" demoscener got them one or two days after the party (or even at the party), and in a diskmag they have only one thing to do: the staff can say we got 666 articles, and they are 999 kbytes. That's a problem in Hugi, Amber, Shine and many more too. In Fleur I closed the "results corner" after the first issue...

A very special Bush Party report with lots of pictures is the best part of the diskmag, it's really funny how Baloo and Co. enjoy a party. There are some coding articles too, and the largest text is about Psychic Symphony's Euro Tour '99.

The exact table of contents looks as follows:

NOOOOOO! :) That's just Adok writing this down, and I haven't got interest and time to do that. If the mag isn't working on your machine, I can recommend you one thing: rip the texts. (Mrip 2.60 does it well...)

There is a hidden part in issue 5, it seems that after Fleur and Hugi they make that happiness too. Btw, start fleur3.exe with /schumi and scroll down to the last page in the main menu, that's a secret part that was made especially for me. ;) Thanks to Rod/Mandula to finding it, and Nap/Dilemma for creating it.

Well finally all what I can say, this e-mag is the default in the task design. Articles are enuff, and enjoyable, the whole stuff got a happy feeling. Hope they will fix the diskmag engine's bugs for the next issue.
