Boycott Hungary!

Tomcat/Greenroom

Now you might ask why a Hungarian is asking you for this. It is because Hungary is approaching the darkest abyss of history again: Nazism. Now, just DON'T STOP READING, this is not another whine about politics, what I am talking about is a true danger, and you, West European citizens should be aware of this!

To cut it short, let's see facts. Some leading politicians are openly talking against Jews, blaming them for all the problems of Hungary, calling them "the cancer of the nation" and so. They are talking about a worldwide Jewish plot against which true Hungarians must fight. The far right wing party, named MIEP - abbreviation for Party of Hungarian Life and Justice - and their views are widely accepted in the country, and sadly, not only by some anachronistic old farts and skinheads, but their teachings receive more and more appreciation every day among regular citizens. Government politicians, including the prime minister and the president of the republic have been asked several times to condemn racism, but they deny so, there's not a single word against open Nazism growing.

So far we have a true and legal, state sponsored Nazi radio broadcasting anti-Jewish speeches and fascist stuff, and several book stores are proudly advertising books like "Mein Kampf", "The essence of fascism" (Mussolini), and some Nazi books like "The danger of the Jewish world plot" or "The Protocol of the Wise of Zion" in their storefront windows. A government politician has inaugurated a memorial for the Hungarian gendarmery, which was the actual executioner of the Jewish transportation to concentration camps. Another politician has officially proposed to rehabilitate the prime minister of the 40's who issued the laws about the Jews to be terminated, and who had been hanged after the war.

Now you might think that it's impossible that Nazis could make a comeback, even to get popular in any country in the 21st century. If you think so, you're naive. If it's impossible at your place, in Germany, Britain, France, the Netherlands, or wherever you live, just remember that Hungary is the Balkans, where actual death camps were actually operating, just a few miles from our borders, just five years ago.

Do you want it to happen again? Do you want to see Nazis in the middle of Europe again? If not, BOYCOTT HUNGARY! Don't buy Hungarian goods, don't travel to Hungary, and don't serve Hungarians in the shops. Let them know why you're doing it. If a country doesn't want to expel Nazis, expel them from Europe. Tell your friends, create a movement, it costs you nothing. But if enough people are doing this in Europe, the media will soon recognize it and the Hungarian government will have two choices: stop the Nazis or forget about joining the European Union.
