Theory: Intelligence Sucks.

Afghanbashi

Do the contents of this theory correspond with the truth? Indeed this is a grave and difficult question. Many of our fellow philosophers have pondered on it and almost damaged their brain, so difficult was it. Yet nobody has found a definite answer to it yet, just like nobody has found an answer yet what the sense of life is. We will try to find an answer.

Intelligence is a word. What is its meaning? A difficult question indeed, for many men define it differently. Some say it's the ability to learn new things quickly, some say it means how well you'll do in life in general, and some others say it's simply what intelligence tests measure.

If the last definition were true - and in a philosophic system, definitions have to be taken to be true, because only then will it be possible to prove anything -, intelligence would be dependent on tests, as well as on the human who does this test, of course. Two components, one value: the value of intelligence, often called IQ (intelligence quotient, that is intelligence age as measured by the test multiplied with 100 and divided by the absolute life age of the human who takes this test).

So, again, so that you remember: Just as much as this value depends on the human, it also depends on the test.

At least it is like this when we take the last definition of intelligence for the true one. In fact it is the only definition known to us that makes sense, for the others are not measurable. How can you determine how high your ability to learn new things quickly is? How can you determine how well you do in life in general? By your money, or how long you survive, perhaps? These are subjective values that have not been included in these definitions. In a proper definition, it would be required to include them. Therefore these definitions are useless.

Now, provided that intelligence is the value measured by an intelligence test, can we say that intelligence sucks? Yes, we can, because this is a subjective statement. But mind, without any intelligence you would not be able to read these lines or even understand them! So it's very important, and we think: Intelligence rules.

But then again, there are also people who claim that they don't like life. Which is equal nonsense, of course.
