Shit Happens part 2

Enzymer Ex Avalon Design

As you might have read in Hugi issue 16, my crew has a lot of troubles with our start on the PC. If not then I'll give a little notice.

To keep the story short, we (Commando, Merlin, Viper and I, Enzymer) started a new group on the PC. We came from the Amiga scene. Actually we all were really active in the late 80's and in the beginning of the 90's on Amiga. We are probably best known for our releases for Kefrens, Flash Productions and Amaze. Then we more and more lost interest in the Amiga scene. One day I (Enzymer) bumped into Commando on IRC. We soon found out that we got a lot to talk and agreed to meet to chat. It was the beginning of the spring this year when we meet. I arrived at Commando's place for the weekend. Later that same weekend Viper and Merlin dropped by to say hi. I soon found out that Viper was Shedder of Ex. Amaze. We drank some beer and took a little trip to town (Copenhagen) like old friends. Later that weekend and a lot hangovers later we talked about starting a small group on the PC. Then I went home to northen Jutland. Two weeks later Commando called me to hear when we should start to produce something. We talked and I told him that I was working on some sort of intro. On that day it really began. We were making a production for the Summer Encounter '99 and everything was going pretty well until Commando, Merlin and Viper got busted by the Danish software police (read more in Hugi issue 16 for a full story about the bust). The interest was really there but after that day our crew was falling apart. I thought that I might save it, but I didn't manage to do it. In late September 1999 I also got a visit by the Danish software police because my address stood in Commando's mailinglist, but as I wrote in Hugi issue 17, I didn't have much pirated software. Only a couple programs, and I have thrown the pirated software in the trashcan. So when they were visiting me I didn't have anything illegal. They were quite surprised and could do nothing about it. They gave me a warning and I told them the reason my name was in Commando's list was that we were in a group, doing intros, demos and stuff for free. They asked me if it was a pirate group. And I had to tell them about the demo scene for about an hour or so. I told them how the basic things works in the demo scene, and that the pirate scene is a completely different scene. I really hope that they understood it correctly. Well they seemed to, so they left my home and apologized.

So from now on (October 9th, 1999) I am without a group. I tought I could make something by myself, but it isn't quite as fun as with some good friends. I am now seeking for a Danish group to join!

Yours
